Overview

The Wireless Mesh Overlay (WiMO) project is aimed at developing an overlay based resource control and management framework for wireless mesh networks.

This is a joint project with Intel Research and the Networks Lab at the Department of Computer Science, UC Davis.

Our Vision

The aim of the project is to first implement a monitoring framework that helps us collect and analyze useful network statistics. This information will then be utilized for resource control and management in the network. We plan to implement this framework as an overlay network, so as to make it independent of the underlying network. This would enable us to easily extend the framework to heterogenous networks, comprising of both wired and wireless networks.

Current Status

We are currently in the process of implementing a monitoring framework. We are also working on implementing admission control in wireless mesh networks as the first step towards provisioning resource control.
